Fannie Mezzo's Obituary
Philomena "Fannie" Mezzo, age 94, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Loretto Nursing Home. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of Frank and Assunta Pistilli. Fannie was employed as a Dietician for 25 years at CBA then was a cook with Catholic Charities at St. Peter's Church for 15 years. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and a lifelong member of its Holy Name Society. Fannie was very active with St. Peter's Church for 40 years, especially with bingo night and spaghetti suppers. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Mezzo in 1984 and her two brothers, Daniel and Michael Pistilli. Fannie is survived by her two sons, Samuel (Maria) Mezzo of Liverpool and Mark (Karen) Mezzo of Central Square; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the 5th floor staff at Loretto for their exceptional care. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter's Church. Entombment will follow in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum. THOMAS J. PIRRO JR.
