Felice (Piedimonte) Ferris' Obituary
Felice (Piedimonte) Ferris, 79, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at James Square. She was born in New Rochelle, NY to Maria (DiIorio) and Cosmo Piedimonte. After her marriage to James Ferris of Auburn, NY, they resided in Liverpool where they lived for 54 years. Together they marked their 59th wedding anniversary on August 10, 2016.
Felice graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School, working first for Equitable Life Insurance Company and then the NYS Division for Youth, retiring after many years of service. Her parish church, Immaculate Heart of Mary provided many volunteer opportunities. She was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society, the Parish Council, and served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.
During the early years of her marriage, Felice was a full-time wife and mother. She loved surrounding herself with family and friends, and was an excellent cook and baker. She was an avid reader and also derived great pleasure in decorating her home. Wherever there was music playing, Felice and Jim could be found dancing. When warm weather arrived they could be found at the beach and enjoyed camping. They also enjoyed international travel to various places including Italy, Ireland, Russia, Spain, Korea, France, the Caribbean and Mexico.
She was predeceased by her parents, Maria (DiIorio) and Cosmo Piedimonte.
Felice is survived by her husband, Jim Ferris; three daughters, Susan (Carl) Weaver, Karen (Steve) Seguin, and Sharon (Jim) Bellso; six grandchildren, Nick Dunham, Adam Seguin, Matt Seguin, Jake Seguin, Joey Bellso and Gia Bellso; two sisters, Antoinetta Corp and Evelyn Komanecky, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 9:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Entombment will be in Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum, Baldwinsville. Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
