Ferman W. "Ferm" Castellini's Obituary
Ferman W. "Ferm" Castellini, 92, of Syracuse passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at The Centers at St. Camillus. He was born in Solvay, NY to the late Gelmino and Evelyn (Filosi) Castellini. Ferman graduated from Solvay High School in 1948 and served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Allied Chemical where he made many lifelong friends. Ferman was an avid golfer. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and being at the Tyrol Club playing pitch and making polenta.
His loving wife of 53 years, Concetta “Connie” Castellini, passed away in 2021. He missed her dearly.
Ferman is survived by his daughters, Joanne (Steve) VanAuken and Judy (Billy) Wells; four granddaughters, and two great-grandsons; a sister and brother as well as many nieces and nephews.
If you ran into anyone that knew Ferman, they would smile and say he is just the best. You couldn’t help but fall in love with him with just one smile. He truly was the nicest man you would ever meet and was a true gentleman. He will be truly missed by everyone that knew him.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, aides, and staff at The Centers at St. Camillus for their kindness and compassion in taking care of Ferman.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Ferman’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
