Filomena (Merola) Madonna's Obituary
Filomena (Merola) Madonna, born in Maddaloni, Italy to the late Lorenzo and Antoinette Merola, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Filomena worked for Syracuse China, Learburys and the Cathedral Candle Company. She was a great cook, enjoyed gardening and always had a houseful entertaining family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Filomena was predeceased by her husband, Domenico Madonna; son, Lorenzo Madonna, and her brothers, Michael and John Merola.
Filomena is survived by her daughters, Louise (Michael) Petrillo, Antoinette (David) Ware, and son, Ralph (Sandra) Madonna; grandchildren, David, Lorenzo, and Annalise; her siblings, Salvatore (Clementine) Merola and Josephine (Salvatore) Ferraro; sister-in-law, Anna Merola, and several nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins.
A Funeral service will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME followed by a funeral Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY. Filomena will be entombed in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
