Filomena M. (Greco) Mula's Obituary
Filomena M. (Greco) Mula, age 99, passed away peacefully as a result of COVID-19 on December 13, 2020 at Loretto Nursing Home. Filomena was born in Gloversville, NY. She was a longtime resident of Liverpool, NY and was predeceased by her loving husband, Dominick Mula in 1980 and 5 brothers, Angelo, Samuel, Joseph, Anthony and Vincent (Jim) Greco. Survived by her son, Donald (Donna) of Brewerton; daughter, Diane (Jeffrey) Phelan of Liverpool; grandchildren, Lynn Mula, Jennifer (Ryan) Boomer and Paul Phelan; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy Mula, Alana Arnold, Mackenzie Cianfrocca, Grayson and Max Boomer; two great-great-grandchildren, Maddux and Maverick Mula. She is also survived by her brother, Peter Greco as well as several nieces and nephews.
Filomena was a devoted mother and grandmother who was always there in time of need. She was supportive in every way possible to family and friends. Her words were always filled with encouragement. Phyl loved to cook, laugh and enjoyed the company of her neighbors, friends and family. Her grandchildren brought great joy and purpose to her life. She was a master baker who made the best Italian cookies, pies and pastries.
She was a member of the Salina Seniors where she made many friends over the years and enjoyed her weekly outings for bingo, lunches and occasional day trips. She also enjoyed playing cards and time at the casino. No one supported S.U. basketball more than she did.
Her family would like to give special thanks to the 10th floor staff at the Cunningham for the compassionate care Phyl received these past 5 years.
Due to COVID, services and burial will be private. A Celebration of Life Mass will be conducted at a later date.
