Filomena R. "Phyllis" (Spadafore) Caprilozzi's Obituary
Filomena R. “Phyllis” Caprilozzi, 87, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 17, 2022. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Vincent and Helen (Cannizzo) Spadafore. Phyllis was the former owner of The Red Rose Flower Shop in Syracuse. Later in life, she was the cafeteria manager at St. John the Baptist School, as well as cooking for the rectory. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends, floral design and playing slots at the casino.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, James Caprilozzi in 2001; her son-in-law, Michael Aiello; two brothers, Joseph and Patrick Spadafore.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Alexander (Cindy) Caprilozzi of New Mexico and her daughter, Katherine M. Aiello of Syracuse; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Frances Spadafore; stepsister, Rita Nave; half-sister, Camille DeLucia, along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Phyllis’ life at 10:00 am in St. John the Baptist Church, Syracuse. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
