Franca (Baranello) Cardarelli's Obituary
Franca (Baranello) Cardarelli, 77, of North Syracuse, passed away after a courageous fight with a difficult illness. At her side were her husband, four loving children, two granddaughters, and son-in-law. She was a strong and intensely caring person who will be remembered for the nurturing care and advocacy she continually provided to family and friends. A native of Italy, she immigrated to the U.S. in 1961. Franca retired from P.E.A.C.E Inc. in 2010 after 35 years of service to the community. She enjoyed meticulously tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. With a life-long love of travel, she cherished the memories of numerous cross-country trips with her husband and group trips with her entire adult family. She relished the opportunities to climb canyon rocks or be amidst the bustle of a big city. She loved her family unconditionally and is deeply loved by those whom she left. Our hearts are broken. Franca is profoundly missed. She touched the details of our lives. The family wonders if we will forget to eat without her incessantly reminding us to do so.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Nicholas; their children, Jessica Cardarelli Jones (Jerome Seeley), Andrew of Buffalo, Sharon of Cincinnati, and Daniel Cardarelli; granddaughters, Laura Jones and Sydney Cardarelli; step-grandson, Kevin Seeley; sisters, Maria Baranello Di Domenica and Antonietta Baranello Martinengo of Turin, Italy, Laura Baranello Franzolin of Florence, Italy; and numerous nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Italy. She is predeceased by her sister Anna Maria Baranello.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Franca’s life at 10:00 am in St. Rose of Lima Church. Entombment will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Mausoleum, Baldwinsville. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, her wish was to benefit children. Memorial donations can be made to UNICEF at http://www.unicefusa.org/help/donate
