Frances J. Forestiere's Obituary
Frances J. Forestiere, 91, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2019 surrounded by her loving nieces and nephews at her side. Frances was born in Spadafora, Sicily and came to Syracuse, NY as a child. Frances was the only sibling to obtain a college degree. She worked for many years in the accounting field and subsequently retired from Empire BlueCross/Blue Shield. Aunt Fran was a loving doting Aunt to all her nieces and nephews, but most especially to her great-nieces and nephews; Leo, Maria, Alicia, Vincent, Stephanie, Anthony, Nicholas and Andrea Saia.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Angela; brothers, Santi, Dominick, Paul; sisters, Rose, Alice, Florence and niece, Angela Ragusa.
Frances is survived by 6 loving nieces and nephews, Connie Forestiere, Mary Saia Vasinda, Tony Saia (Sheila), Rosanne Anthony (Joe), Paul Forestiere (Patty), and Angela Newcomb (Rick); 17 great-nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nieces.
In the last year of her life Frances was lovingly cared for by her niece, Sheila Mikels.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Frances’ life at 9:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial immediately following at Assumption Cemetery. Family and Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
