Frances A. (Constantino) Marino's Obituary
Frances A. (Constantino) Marino, of Lakeland, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 6, 2018. She was 88 years old.
Known for her wisdom and sharp wit, she definitely was the life of the party but what brought her the most joy was her family and especially her 8 children and the frequent, large family gatherings.
Frances retired from her elected position as the Town Clerk of the Town of Geddes at age 80 after faithfully serving 26 years. Prior to that, she worked in the Comptroller’s Office. She also served as Secretary to the Geddes Town Board. She was a pillar of the community and was well respected and knowledgeable when it came to politics. Frances loved the Town and went out of her way to help everyone and fought hard for the residents.
Her love of Yankee baseball and Syracuse basketball and football were some of her greatest passions. Frances also enjoyed golfing and traveling to see her children and opened her heart and home to all that knew her. She took special pride in always keeping her home company ready.
She lived her life to the fullest and did things “her way” right up to the end. Frances will be truly missed.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Marino, Sr., and son, David Francis Marino; parents, Peter and Angeline Constantino; brothers, Joseph and Nicholas, and sister, Connie Dustick.
Frances is survived by 5 sons, Frank Jr. (Andi), John (Shauna), Kevin (Terry), Jaimie (Deborah), and Peter; 2 daughters, Susan Olson and Christy Leabo (Don), and daughter-in-law, Gena Hartman Marino. She is also survived by 2 brothers, David Constantino (Nancy) and Peter Constantino, 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Friday, January 12, 2018 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Frances’ life at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Peace Church, Lakeland. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
