Francesco "Frank" Colosi's Obituary
Francesco “Frank” Colosi, 98, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 24, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Gualtieri Sicaminò Messina, Sicily, son of the late Paul and Antonia (Calapa) Colosi, and served in the Italian Army. Frank was a butcher at Loblaws Supermarket and then Sweetheart Market. He was a parishioner of St. Matthew’s Church in East Syracuse. Frank enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, playing Bingo, and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Carmela (Perrone) Colosi; his brothers, Joseph, Ninai and Angelino, and his sister, Maria.
Frank is survived by three children, his son, Paul (Joanne) Colosi; his daughter, Antoinette (Frank) Casciano, and his son, Sam (Tricia) Colosi; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Marc, Marissa, Alyssa, Taylor, Kayla and Frank; 11 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Anna Colosi; brothers-in-law, Joseph Perrone and Frank Strange; along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass in celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 31, 2025 in St. Matthew’s Church, East Syracuse, followed by entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Matthew’s Church, 229 W. Yates St., E. Syracuse, NY 13057.
