Francis Giacobbi's Obituary
Francis Giacobbi, 82, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday November 11, 2023. Francis was born in Syracuse to the late John and Carmella (Esposito) Giacobbi. Francis graduated from Nottingham High School and went on to attend college in Indiana at Tri-State University (Trine University) where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. From college he went on to have an extremely successful career with General Motors for 30 years. He held many managerial and leadership positions with GM throughout his career which was marked with numerous promotions due to his tireless hard work and dedication. From there he went on to work for 10 years with Church & Dwight in North Brunswick, New Jersey, ending his career as Plant Manager.
Francis loved spending his time traveling in retirement with his beloved wife Mary Anne, often visiting with his four sons. He also loved and enjoyed spending time with his 10 grandchildren and was extremely proud of them. Francis was a selfless and devoted Son, Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Brother who always put his family's needs before his own.
Francis is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Anne (Lawton) Giacobbi; his four sons and their families, Martin (Carolina), Brian, Martin, Angela; James (Tracy), Andrew, Kevin; Thomas (Grace), Alexander, Megan, David; Matthew (Marlene), Isabella, Ryan; his brother, Thomas Giacobbi; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anthony and Eileen Oliva; several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 8:45am to 9:45am at Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville, NY, followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Francis’ life at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Francis Giacobbi’s memory to Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St, Fayetteville, NY 13066.
