Francis P. "Franny" Michel's Obituary
Francis P. “Franny” Michel, 83, of Clay, passed away on August 30, 2021, after a brief illness. Born in Syracuse to the late Lawrence and Dorothy Mae (McConnell) Michel, Francis was an Air Force veteran, stationed in Nevada. Francis worked as a salesman for Bill Rapp Pontiac for 37 years and retired from East Syracuse Chevrolet at 81 years old. He had a successful career and earned many accolades such as salesman of the month, and salesman of the year many times. He was an avid sports fan, and his favorite teams were the NY Yankees, NY Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Syracuse Orange. Franny was affectionately known to many as Francois the Fox, the Foof, and Spanky.
Along with his parents, Francis was predeceased by his son, Patrick, in 2010.
Francis is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Diane (St. Denis) Michel; his children, Tina (Scott), Jacqueline (Manuel), Brian, Deborah (William), and Michael (Kari), 10 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Susie (Dick), and Sandie; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Franny’s life at 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
