Frank A. Bersani Jr.'s Obituary
Frank Anthony Bersani, Jr., 57, of Dewitt, NY, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 11, 2012 in Clearwater, FL. He was born in Manhattan, NY on July 3, 1954 and resided in Syracuse his entire life. Frank was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, Class of 1972. He received a Bachelor's of Arts degree from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY in 1976 and a Syracuse University Law degree in 1980. Upon graduation he became an associate of the law firm of Hancock & Estabrook, and later joined the firm of Lombardi, Devorsetz, Stinziano & Smith. Frank eventually founded his own litigation firm, where he continued to work as a dedicated council of law, always available to listen and give sound advice to clients, friends and family.
He was a volunteer coach for the Holy Cross Youth Basketball Program, the Jamesville-Dewitt Junior Little League Baseball Program, and the East Side Soccer Program. He was a board member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of the Calvary Golf Club.
Family always came first for Frank throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family skiing, golfing and boating on Skaneateles Lake. Frank was a proud father, loving husband, dedicated brother, devoted son and fiercely loyal friend. He was known for his sharp wit and sense of humor.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Kathleen (Kitty) Heick Bersani of Dewitt, NY; daughter, Alexandra; son, Christian; parents, Dr. Frank and Margaret Bersani of Skaneateles, NY and brothers, Michael (Alejandra) of Geneva, NY, Dr. Thomas (Joan) of Skaneateles, NY, Matthew (Molly) of Hong Kong, Stephen (Jennie) of Auburn, NY and Dr. Christopher (Cynthia) of Westborough, MA; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012, 12:00 pm at Holy Cross Church, Dewitt, NY. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt, NY. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to the Syracuse Boys and Girls Club.
