Frank Crisofi's Obituary
Frank Crisofi, 96, of Syracuse, formerly of North Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Nicola and Mary Crisofi. Frank was a Barber for 60 years, most recently on Molloy Road in Mattydale. He was known as "Frank the Barber" and "Papa Boobee" to everyone. Frank was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, where he ushered on Saturday nights. He was also a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Curly Council. Frank was an avid golfer and bowler, one time bowling a 300 game. He also enjoyed fishing and playing poker, one of his favorite places to go was the Turning Stone Casino. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be forever missed.
He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy (Denson) Crisofi in 1993; 3 brothers, Anthony, Charles and Thomas Crisofi; 2 sisters, Mary Demore and Josephine Parillo and 2 sons-in-law, Marty Iauco and Bill Doyle.
Frank is survived by his 3 loving daughters, Mary (Tony) Gentile of New Smyrna Beach, FL; Betty Iauco of North Syracuse and Dottie LaChance of Syracuse; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Garafalo of Mattydale along with many nieces and nephews.
Frank's family would like to express a loving thank you to his grandson and name sake, Frank Doyle, for his special, compassionate care which made it possible for "Papa" to remain at home with his family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, where a Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
