Frank L. Cutrone's Obituary
Frank L. Cutrone, 104, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, August 16, 2024.
He was born in Syracuse to the late Joseph and Mayme (Mallot) Cutrone and served the U.S. Army in The Pacific Theater from 1943 – 1945. Frank was a pipe insulator by trade and retired from Miner Construction after 40 dedicated years of service. He was an avid golfer and loved to fish, travel to Cape Cod, and relished a good game of bocce ball. Frank was good with his hands and could fix anything; he was also a talented glass-stainer and woodworker. He was a member of the IAAC, and Rogue’s Roost Golf Course’s Pirate League but more than anything loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years Esther (Guinto) Cutrone; siblings, Carmen, Joseph, Philomena, Robert, and John.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Sandra C. Baker; his son, Joseph N. (Sandra) Cutrone, Sr.; his grandchildren, Joseph N. (Paula) Cutrone, Jr. and Kara Marie (James) DeSantis; his great-grandchildren, Sophia Rose and Giada Grace DeSantis; his two brothers, James and Donald (Marlene) Cutrone; his sisters-in-law, Angela (Louis) Romano and Nicoletta Schimpff; his 100 year old cousin, Marie DiRoma; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 9:15 – 11:15 A.M. followed by a funeral service in celebration of Frank’s life at 11:30 A.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt.
