Frank J. Detran's Obituary
Frank J. Detran, 91, of Cicero, passed away peacefully at Crouse Hospital on Sunday, April 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Syracuse before moving to Cicero. Frank served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked at Carrier for 42 years as a Chief Tool Designer. Frank was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, bocce, gardening and cooking. Frank loved spending time with his family including his dog, “Shadow”.
He was predeceased by his sister, Connie Darminio and two brothers, John and Albert Detran.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Barbara (Loguidice) Detran; his daughter, Lori (Jim Liadka) Detran of Baldwinsville; his son, Frank Detran of Marcellus; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Pizzi, along with many nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank Frank and Sue Albino, Jeff and Donna Brooks, for all of their support and care.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Frank’s life at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Entombment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Dewitt. Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
