Frank Fortino's Obituary
Frank Fortino 90, of Syracuse passed away Friday at James Square. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Fortino had been employed by the Leigh Instrument Co. for 25 years before his retirement. An avid sports enthusiast, he was a fan of the New York Yankees, The Syracuse Chiefs and for former Syracuse Nats. Frank was predeceased by his 2 brothers, Joseph and John Fortino and his 4 sisters, Marion Fortino, Lucille Long, Vera Fantacone and Rose Fortino. He is survived by his wife, Anne (Carapella) Fortino; a son, Frank E. (Dianne) Fortino of Cicero, a granddaughter, Michelle Calveric of Cicero; 2 great-grandchildren, Joseph & Thea Calveric; 2 sisters, Genevieve (Vincent) Nicotra and Marlene Jerome, both of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 AM Tuesday in the Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home and 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Entombment will be the Woodlawn Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd., N. Syracuse), Monday from 4 to 7 PM.
