Frank A. Massaro's Obituary
Frank Massaro, 96, passed away on January 29, 2020 at Long Island State Veteran’s Home in Stony Brook, NY. Frank was a World War II Marine veteran who was wounded at Guadalcanal and again at Peleliu, earning him a Purple Heart. Frank was a lifelong member and past president of IAAC and longtime member of Lakeshore Country Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading and coin collecting.
Frank and his late wife, Louise, traveled extensively and loved spending time with family and friends. He had an amazing work ethic and even after retirement always kept busy. He was the life of the party and always had a smile and good word for everyone. He will be remembered as a loving, kind, generous soul with a great sense of humor. He will be truly missed.
Frank leaves behind a son, Thomas (JoAnn) Massaro, daughter, Marlene Massaro, three grandchildren, Michael, Gregory and Audra Massaro and three great grandchildren, Emily, Lilliana and Luke Massaro.
Services were held in Long Island, NY and he was laid to rest in Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY, where he received a 21 gun salute accompanied by a Marine Honor Guard.
