Frank J. Rey's Obituary
Frank J. Rey, 73, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Crouse Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late John and Sandina (Sunser) Rey. Frank was a self-employed Barber for 15 years and continued his employment in the Customer Service Department at Niagara Mohawk for 30 years. He was passionate about cutting hair and continued to do so for family and friends throughout his life. Frank enjoyed the outdoors, mowing his lawn, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joan (Baranello) Rey; three children, John (Kristen) Rey of Westvale, Frank C. Rey (Kim Cannistra) of Syracuse, and Christina (James) Thomas of Baldwinsville; six grandchildren, Kyle and Olivia Rey, Nico and Isabella Rey, and Giuliana and Jimmy Thomas; two aunts, Frances Chillemi and MaryEllen Sunser; his special cousin, John Sunser, and his dog and best friend, Provo.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Frank’s life at 10:00 AM in St. Charles - St. Ann’s Church, 417 S. Orchard Rd., Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
