Franklin H. Gonzalez's Obituary
Franklin H. Gonzalez, 95, of Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Elderwood. Franklin was born in Carthage, NY, son of the late Erasmo and Minnie (Kaler) Gonzalez. Frank was a WWII veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He was employed by Porter Cable/Rockwell for 30+ years as a tool repairman. Frank loved to travel and spend summers at his cottage on Southwick Beach. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved fishing, playing horseshoes and bonfires at night.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Carmella “Amy” (Cardone) Gonzalez; brother, Arthur Gonzalez, and sister, Violet Taylor.
Frank is survived by his 6 children, Ronald J. (Fran) Gonzalez of Naples, FL, Gayle (George) Checksfield of Liverpool, Karen (Tom) Case of Liverpool, Michelle Russell of Liverpool, Melissa (Jeff) Deshaies of Chittenango and Franklin (Ronda) Gonzalez II of South Dakota; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Franklin will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
A Memorial Mass and Celebration of his life will be held later this summer resulting from current circumstances.
