Fred J. Fietkiewicz's Obituary
Fred J. Fietkiewicz, of Cicero, passed away Saturday at home with his wife Jackie by his side. He was born in Syracuse, served with the U.S. Navy, and graduated from Syracuse University. Fred was Vice President and Regional Manager of NY Operations for Nationwide Insurance, retiring after many years of service. He was very active in the community and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero, where he was a Eucharistic Minister. Fred was a long term board member and chairperson with the Boys and Girls Club of Syracuse. He was also a board member, chairperson, and interim president of the United Way of CNY; past board member of the American Red Cross and Food Bank of CNY, and member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly and Council #10904.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Josephine (Bolan) Fietkiewicz, and three brothers, Eugene, Robert, and Daniel.
Fred is survived by his wife, Jackie (Duclos) Fietkiewicz; two daughters, Laurie Johnson of Alabaster, AL and Elaine (Todd) Irion of Dublin, OH; three grandchildren, Kendall, Colton, and Payton, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Fred’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Anna’s Food Pantry at Sacred Heart Church, 8229 Brewerton Rd., Cicero, NY 13039.
