Freda Marie (Cali) Williams' Obituary
Freda Marie (Cali) Williams, formerly of North Syracuse, passed away on May 22, 2017 in Tampa, Florida. Freda fought a 2-year battle with cancer and did so with great optimism, courage, and strong will.
“Mema” was very proud of her grandson’s accomplishments in academics and sports; they were the center of her universe.
She was an avid Buccaneers fan. Brian and Freda purchased their actual seats when the Tampa Stadium was rebuilt.
Freda received “Volunteer of the Year” award for her tireless work as a Guardian ad Litem. Freda will be remembered for her “spunk” and beautiful smile.
Freda is predeceased by her parents, James and Sally Cali, as well as her husband, Brian.
Surviving family include her son, Roger (Renee) Briggs of Wesley Chapel, FL; two sisters, Joy (Richard) Lawler of Zephyrhills, FL., and Barbara (Frank) Barletta of Liverpool; twin grandsons, Ryan and Jacob Briggs; former husband, Thomas Briggs, of Tampa, FL along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 27, 2017 in Tampa, Florida.
A Memorial Mass in celebration of Freda’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in St. Margaret’s Church, 203 Roxboro Rd. Mattydale, NY 13211.
