Frederick Caccamo, Sr.'s Obituary
Frederick Caccamo, Sr., of East Syracuse, passed and joined his wife, Flora, of 56 years, in heavenly rest on January 26, 2023. Fred was born on May 23, 1933 in Syracuse, NY to Thomas and Frances Caccamo.
Surviving, are sons, Frederick Jr. (Peggy), Daniel, Michael (Amber) of Syracuse, David (Mary Anne) of Bethlehem, PA, and Steven (Stephanie) of Kirkville, NY; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and brother, Thomas (Maryann) of Liverpool, NY.
Frederick was a long-time member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 158. He was known throughout his community for his involvement in local politics and a member of the Zoning Board, but mostly for coaching many years in the East Syracuse Little League, where he was also a board member. Fred enjoyed bowling, fishing, the Yankees, and retirement at his camp in Henderson Harbor.
Calling hours will be held from 4 - 6pm, Tuesday January 31, 2023 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Frederick’s life will take place at 10am, Wednesday February 1, 2023 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church East Syracuse, followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Dewitt.
