Frederick John Quinn's Obituary
Frederick John Quinn, 69, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 surrounded by his family. Frederick was born in Watertown, NY on December 18, 1946. He was a graduate of Liverpool High School. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1966 serving on the USS Rock out of San Diego and the USS Menhaden for 4 years and became a certified Scuba Diver in the Navy. Frederick was a member of the Liverpool Fire Department and was on the recovery dive team. He was employed by Niagara Mohawk for 35 years as a lineman, retiring in 2006 and was also a school bus driver for the Baldwinsville Central School District for several years. Frederick was an avid boater, loved traveling, and spending summers on their boat at Onondaga Lake Park. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, John A. “Jack” Quinn, Sr.
Frederick is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Sharon “Sue” (Rathburn) Quinn; his children; daughter, Stephanie Quinn of Doha, Qatar; son, Brian (Michelle) Quinn; son, Kevin (Nichole) Quinn; and daughter, Erin Quinn, all of Liverpool; granddaughters, Grace and Carley Quinn, Sierra and Emily Dorr, and grandson, Tyler Torbitt-Meyers; his mother, Beverly (Shoemaker) Quinn Lynch of Liverpool; three siblings, Donald Quinn of Washington State, Rosanne (Dean) Brown of Liverpool, and John (Lynda) Quinn of Liverpool; step-brothers and step-sisters, Jack Lynch, Debbie Bukowski, Mary Lynch-Irving, and Jim Lynch, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Frederick’s life at 10:00 am in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Liverpool. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
