Fred's mother was my mother's sister, so I was blessed to know him my whole life. He had his mother's eyes, her sense of humor, and her laugh. I remember he was always full of fun and good humor. He made the best of every situation and courageously supported his first wife, Janet, before she passed, much too young. He made every family gathering much more fun. I also appreciate when he and Sharon spent their winters in FL, how helpful they were to my aging parents. His presence near my parents gave me much peace of mind and he was so helpful to them! Fred was quite the prankster! When I was 3 years old, and Fred must have been in his early 20s, he was at our house on Long Island. He gave me a rock, about 7-inches long, that was shaped like an egg. He told me that if I kept it warm it would hatch into a dinosaur that I could keep as a pet. For weeks I wrapped the rock in a doll blanket, talked to it, and carried it around. After a time, my older and wiser sister convinced me it was just a rock. I could never look at a large, egg-shaped rock without thinking of this joke! I love you Fred, thank you for the great times, and I miss you. Patricia Hoyt
