Frederick A. Schimpff's Obituary
Frederick A. Schimpff, 85, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2023 at St. Camillus Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born in Scranton, PA to the late Arthur and Muriel (Stanton) Schimpff. Fred served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for many dedicated years as a delivery driver for Stroehmann Bakeries, located in Lyncourt. Fred enjoyed dancing, golfing, bowling, and appreciated nature; he especially loved to go boating and fishing. More than anything, he cherished time spent with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Fred is predeceased by his sister, Beverly Barth.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nicoletta (Guinto) Schimpff; his children, Sheri DeMauro, Angela (Ray) Carney, Scott (Stefanie) Schimpff, Craig (Tracey) Schimpff; his grandchildren, Christopher and Alena DeMauro, Aiden, Mia, and Nolen Schimpff, and Connie and Rosemary Schimpff; his brother, Butch Schimpff; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at St. Camillus for their wonderful care.
Visitation will take place from 4 – 6 pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A funeral mass in celebration of Fred’s life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 9, 2023 in Assumption Church, Syracuse. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the CNY Alzheimer’s Association.
