Gaetano "Guy" Piraino's Obituary
Gaetano (Guy) Piraino of Liverpool passed away at the age of 77. He was born in Spadafora, Italy and came to America in November, 1954. Guy previously worked at Syracuse Tank and Manufacturing Company.
He was well known for playing, coaching and refereeing soccer for many years. Guy also loved to fish any time of year; although the love for his grandchild surpassed everything.
He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Rosina (Aloi) Piraino and his sister-in-law, Connie Piraino.
Guy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan (Bailey) Piraino; his daughter, Rose Christine Piraino; sons, Anthony (Katie) Piraino and Thomas (Sandy) Piraino; grandchildren, Sarah, Maiah, Emma, Michael and Hannah; his siblings, John Piraino, Carmella (Alex) Mancini and James (Pam) Piraino, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Guy’s life at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
