Gail (Olvert) Caster's Obituary
Gail (Olvert) Caster, 77, of Liverpool, passed away Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born in Watertown, NY, and graduated from Watertown High School in 1957. Gail married Charles Caster in 1959. She graduated as an LPN and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, retiring after 27 years of service. Gail volunteered at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the Francis House and was also involved with the girl scouts. She loved gardening, ceramics, and sitting beside an ocean on a sandy beach. Gail was very proud of her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Norma (Barber) Olvert.
Gail is survived by six children, Kathleen Lainhart of Manlius, David (Cheryl) Caster of Liverpool, Anne Desonier of Greenwood Village, CO., Julie (Gary) Teeter of Liverpool, Susan (Timothy) Osborne of Liverpool, and Carrie (Ronald) Toper of Fairport; 13 grandchildren, Dylan Lainhart, Kaleigh (Kelly) Osborne-Larson, Ashley Caster, Brendan (Katie) Lainhart, Andrew Caster, Robert Osborne, Hayden Lainhart, Kyle Teeter, Kaitlyn Desonier, Colin Teeter, Grace Desonier, Connor Toper, and Maggie Toper; her brother, Tyrus (MaryJane) Olvert of Wellsley Island; former spouse, Charles Caster, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Gail’s life at 12:00 PM (noon) in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michael’s Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
