Gail M. DeRosa's Obituary
Gail M. (Hollenbeck) DeRosa, 78, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at Upstate Medical Center with her family by her side on November 3, 2023. Gail was born in Coral Gables, Fl to the late William and Marie (Parry) Hollenbeck.
Her family moved to NY Mills, NY in 1953 where she graduated from NY Mills High School in 1963. Gail relocated to the Cicero area in 1981 where she raised her family.
Gail was a dedicated worker at Huntington Family Centers for 35 years and 15 years at Cardinal Distribution. Gail was an SU season ticket holder for both basketball and football for over 35 years and enjoyed following the New York Yankees. She loved attending her grandchildren’s dance recitals and sporting events. Movie night in the “blue room” at the beach house in Sylvan Beach will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.
In addition to her parents, Gail was predeceased by her husband, Donald DeRosa and her sister, Linda Sprague.
Gail is survived by her children, Dan (Kelly) of McDonough GA, Anthony (Laurie) of Liverpool, and Diane (Patrick) Morgese of North Syracuse; grandchildren, Zachary, Danielle, Anthony, Samantha, Matthew, Abigale, Leah and Christopher; her great grandchild, Carter Grace; siblings, Judy Seigfreid, Dona Brady, William Hollenbeck, Bob Hollenbeck and Tracey Kirk, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Dr. David Moon and the rest of the Medical ICU Team Unit 6H at Upstate University Hospital for the loving care and support they provided our “RA”.
Family and friends may call from 12:00 – 2 :00 pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Gail’s life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY
