Gail "GiGi" Rita Jones' Obituary
Gail “GiGi” Rita Jones (Gaff), 61 of Brewerton, NY passed away peacefully with her daughter Kristie and the love of her life Bill at her bedside with her sons Jeremy and Mitchell on facetime on Wednesday January 20, 2021. Gail was born and raised in Tupper Lake, NY on September 10th, 1959 to Rita and Oscar Gaff. Gail was a graduate of Tupper Lake High School in 1977, attended NCCC for 1 year, and obtained her Teaching Assistant Certification through BOCES in 2003. Gail had been an employee of the Central Square School District for the past 17 years, specifically Brewerton Elementary School where she not only loved her job, but her students and co-workers as well.
Gail loved her 3 dogs Brooklyn, Smokie and Charlie, doing her diamond art paintings, vacationing in Vermont and the Florida Keys with Bill, spending time with her grandson Giovanni and scrapbooking. Gail enjoyed spending her free time volunteering as the Treasurer and Media Director of the New York B.A.S.S Nation, The Central Square Lioness Club, organizing donations for families in need over the holidays, and going above and beyond at work organizing Jump Rope for Heart for the students. Gail had a heart and soul of gold. She would light up every room that she would walk into. She was the most selfless and caring person you could ever meet.
Gail is survived by the love of her life Bill Peck of Brewerton, NY, Son Jeremy Barnes of Pulaski, NY, Daughter Kristie Jones (Nick Hancock) of Watertown, NY, Son Mitchell Jones (Bethany Valenze) of Saranac Lake, NY, Grandson Giovanni Barnes of Central Square, NY, Sisters Cheryl Ross (Mark Ross) of Indiana, Cynthia Gaff of Florida, Brother Mike Gaff (Margaret Gaff) of Tupper Lake, NY, Nieces, Nephews, and her 3 dogs.
Gail was predeceased by her Mother Rita Jane Gaff (Drew), Father Oscar Edward Gaff, and Baby Brother Michael Oscar Gaff I.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212 immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Gail’s life at 4:00 P.M. Gail will be laid to rest in the spring of 2021 at Holy Name Cemetery in Tupper Lake, NY.
