Garrett E. Jones' Obituary
Garrett E. “Gary” Jones, 65, of Cicero, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 after a brief illness with his loving family by his side. Gary loved traveling, fishing, golf and the outdoors. He was an avid NY Giants and SU Basketball fan who enjoyed many trips to the Big East Tournament with friends. Above all, Gary was a devoted family man, always there with a hug, kind word or a funny story. His family will miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Richard Davies and brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Rene Jones.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Anne (Healy) Jones; daughter, Allison; son and daughter-in-law, Garrett and Rachael; sister, Candy and his beloved granddaughter, Kendall who affectionately called him “Wow”. Gary is also survived by many extended family members.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the physicians and nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care and professionalism over the last several months.
A funeral service in celebration of Gary’s life will be conducted at 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Calling hours for family and friends will be held from 4:00 - 6:30 pm on Thursday at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary’s memory to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, One Conversation Place, Syracuse, NY 13204.
