Genevieve F. "Gen" Sansone's Obituary
Genevieve F. “Gen” Sansone, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday surrounded by family at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born in Reggio, Calabria, Italy and came to the United States in 1929. Gen retired as a Teaching Assistant with the Liverpool Central School District. As a licensed cosmetologist and beauty consultant, she was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. Gen enjoyed playing cards, especially Pitch and Pinochle with family and friends. She also volunteered at the Francis House.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl A. Foriero, father of her children, her husband later in life, Jack Sansone; three brothers, John, Patsy and Albert DeSalvo, three sisters, Josephine DiGregorio, Frances DeSalvo and Margaret Molella.
Gen is survived by three children, Carol (Buddy) Malone of Mississippi; Michelle D. (Thomas) Donohue of North Syracuse, and Vincent (Alice) Foriero of Liverpool; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Anthony DeSalvo; two sisters, Mary Donzella and Virginia Aloi, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Gen’s life at 10:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
