George Catalano Jr.'s Obituary
George Catalano, Jr., 76, of Mattydale, passed away peacefully on Saturday at his home. Born in Syracuse, he served with the US Army and was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church which was a very important part of his life. George was employed with Lamson Corporation. for 43 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree and also a member of Mattydale-Hinsdale Seniors, where he was assistant treasurer. George was an avid bowler and golfer and loved spending time with his family and traveling. He was predeceased by his son, Andrew Catalano and several brothers and sisters. George is survived by his loving wife, Concetta R. (Barbagallo) Catalano; sons, George Catalano, III of Clay, Peter (Mary) Catalano of Manlius and Paul J. (Lisa) Catalano of Clay; 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Peter, George R., Michael, Connor, Christopher, Emma, Grace, Jackson and Lillian; brother, Joseph Catalano of Syracuse and sister, Grace (Sam) Napoli of N. Syracuse. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 9:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 AM in St. Margaret's Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. Contributions may be made to St. Margaret's Angel Fund.
