George B. Giordano's Obituary
George B. Giordano, 96, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Bruno and Jennie (Calabro) Giordano. George was a U.S. Army veteran during WWII, serving as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, successfully completing the jump on D-Day. He was a life member of the Mattydale VFW Post 3146. George worked in the factory at Carrier Corp., retiring after many years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Ken) Andrews; two sons, George E. (Kathy) Giordano and John A. Giordano; six grandchildren, Bradley Masters, Pamela (Brian) Pitchford, George E. (Jennie) Giordano, Jr., Gregory (Candice) Giordano, Jeffrey Giordano and Matthew (Kristi) Giordano; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Grace Beach, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of George’s life at 9:30 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
