George N. LaVallee's Obituary
George N. LaVallee, age 72, of Manlius, NY, passed away peacefully at the Veterans Administration Hospital with his loving wife and best friend Susan by his side. Born in Syracuse, NY, to the late Arlene (Barker) and George A. LaVallee, he was a graduate of North Syracuse High School, Class of 1966. Thereafter, George joined the U.S. Army in which he proudly served from 1966 to 1969. His service included a tour of duty with the 9th Support and Transportation Battalion, 9th Infantry Division in the Republic of Vietnam. After his military service, he began his career in finance. George worked as a finance officer with Signal Finance until acquiring a position with Citi Bank as a Corporate Vice President and Branch Area President for over 15 years. In his retirement years, George and Susan spent their time playing golf and traveling. George will be remembered for being a loving and wonderful friend and husband to Susan and for his love of family and friends.
Along with his parents, George is predeceased by his brother, Steve LaVallee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Susan (Scullin) LaVallee; two brothers, Joseph (Valerie) and David LaVallee, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would especially like to thank the many friends and family for their support and prayers during his illness as well as the Veterans Administration Hospital, Dr. M. Wright, Nurses Brandy, Ann, Sarah, Robert, Wendy, Krista and all the Oncology staff at Hematology Oncology of CNY.
A private funeral service with military honors will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, the family would request any donations go to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
