George S. Pisegna's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George S. Pisegna, 86, on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.
He is predeceased by his sister, Marie Pitonzo. George leaves his wife of 65 years, Bernice (Waleski) Pisegna; his daughter, Deborah (Thomas) Swift; his son, George R. Pisegna; grandson, Kevin (Alyssa Geran) Swift; granddaughter, Nicole (Tyler Scoins) Swift; brother, Albert Pisegna; sister, Irene Laquidari; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
George was the son of Carmen and Philomena (Basil) Pisegna and a lifelong resident of Syracuse. After attending Syracuse University, he worked as a draftsman and eventually a recruiter in the Engineering field. In 1956, he served in the U. S. Army as a draftsman.
Mr. Pisegna had a passion for fishing and hunting, and was an avid golfer and card player. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church and served as the President of the Holy Name Society. He was always quick with a joke or a story and truly enjoyed time spent with his family, whether traveling, on the boat or cooking at home. His personality and humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Private funeral services entrusted to THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. George will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
