To all who knew George Pursiano:
George Pursiano was a mentor to me. When I first became an administrator at Henninger, he not only showed me the “by the book” ways but how he took that extra step working with young people. He ensured that students were safe, cared for, and disciplined fairly.
Condolences to the family. He was a fine man, a great teacher and a positive influence on many students at Eastwood High.

Mr. Pursiano was my 12th grade history teacher at Henninger. He was a great teacher. One day, while I was in his class, I was called to the office over the intercom. My Father had passed away. Mr. Pursiano was so kind and compassionate. I always remembered that. I did not realize he was a member of "The Greatest Generation". In watching the video, you learn a lot about a person. He seemed to be a happy family man and nice to see he visited the WW2 Memorial in Washington. I thank him for his service and my sympathy to his family.

My deepest sympathies go out to the Pursiano family in their loss. The world lost a dedicated educator and wonderful man in George Pursiano. Mr. P. taught two classes of mine in 1962 and 1963 at Eastwood High as well as being my homeroom teacher. His "Great Issues" class in my senior year was an inspiration to me in government and in my love of history. My 46 year professional career in engineering was essentially in the public sector (military, federal and local governments). I considered him to be the most influential teacher in my life. Fair winds and following seas to you George on living a full and productive life.

My sincere condolences to the Pursiano Family on your loss. Mr. Pursiano was a caring and compassionate teacher who actually made me love history, much to my surprise. There is always one teacher who leaves an impression that is remembered for a lifetime and Mr. Pursiano was mine. His intelligence and knowledge was only surpassed by his caring and concern for his students. Many will remember him always and i will be one of those people. May he rest in peace in the "Palm of God's Hand".
