Gerald W. "Jerry" Elliott's Obituary
Gerald W. “Jerry” Elliott, 77, of Supply, NC passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022, at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center in Bolivia, NC. Jerry was born in Syracuse, NY to the late William and Irene (Wynes) Elliott and graduated from North High School, class of 1963. A few years after graduation, Jerry went on to be a Certified Maintenance Welder for General Motors, a position he held for almost 30 years until his retirement in 1993. An animal lover his whole life, Jerry had a special place in his heart for dogs, especially Chihuahuas; he usually had 4 or 5 dogs at a time, and they were always spoiled rotten.
Coin collecting was another hobby that Jerry took a lot of pride in; he had a coin store on eBay that had close to 10,000 coins sold over the course of its existence. He enjoyed metal detecting at the local beaches and was always excited to see what he could discover. Jerry also loved the feel and aesthetics of classic and muscle cars, his first car was an MG, and he recently was able to purchase a final one, along with a Corvette. Jerry was truly a jack of all trades; he could put anything together and make it work, he was even known to fabricate spare parts to keep machines functioning at work until the backup parts arrived!
Along with his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his son, William Joseph “BJ” Elliott; 2 great-grandchildren, Jason Cody Meacham, and Emerson G. Slater; siblings, Edward R. Minnoe, Barbara Lamitie, Thomas Minnoe, Beverly Shirleds, Wilomena “Billy” Stuper, and Paul Elliott; his cherished and beloved friend, Linda Thompson; and many pets.
Gerald is survived by his 3 children, Christine A. (Robert) Elliott-Kiesznowski, Michael W. (Laura) Elliott, and Timothy B. Elliott; grandchildren, Austin C., and Tori A. Meacham, Michael W., Jr., Emily, Cole R., and Kaliah Elliott; stepchildren, Alexandria, Bethanie, Benjamin, Craigory, and Hayden Kiesznowski; great-grandchildren, Carter J., Jax J., and Eloise A.
