Gerald F. Szczechowiak's Obituary
Gerald (Jerry) Szczechowiak, 77, of North Syracuse, passed away on Sunday October 29, 2023. He was the most loving and kind Husband, Father, Dziadzia (Grandfather), Uncle and friend. He enjoyed reading, spending time with those he loved, being the biggest fan to his grandsons and their teammates at their baseball and basketball games and just being outside with the Sun on his face relaxing or doing projects around the yard. He was the type of man who would help if you needed a hand or to give you life advice, and he treated his daughters’ friends as his own.
He was an Army Veteran whose 8 ½ years of service included the Vietnam War as well as being stationed in Germany.
Jerry retired from New Process Gear where he was a supervisor.
He was a lifelong communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus where he was honored with the opportunity to be an usher at the 4 o’clock mass. His faith was everything to him, and when he said he would pray for you he did, he had his rosary with him always.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents Francis and Jane (Bartoszewski), daughter Jennifer Szczechowiak and sister Nancy Terry. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Karen (Pickard), a daughter Cari (Andy) Mascari, two grandsons Logan and Brayden Mascari, brother-in-law, and sister- in-law David & Susan Pickard and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
