Gerald T. Thornton's Obituary
Gerald T. Thornton, 67, of Jamesville, passed away on Sunday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he served with the US Air Force and was in the Coast Guard Reserves. Gerald retired from the Onondaga County DOT, Jamesville Highway Department. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Hazel Thornton; brothers, Frank and John Thornton; sisters, Patricia Dixon and Judy Hamel. Gerald is survived by his niece whom he considered his daughter, Erin Rose Thornton of Bridgeport; brothers, Michael (Diane) Thornton of FL., David (Cecilia) of FL and Robert (Debbie) Thornton of Syracuse; sisters, Barbara Bates of TX, Kathleen Reppi of Syracuse, Joan Dillabough of Baldwinsville, Jean Bacon of Cortland, Elizabeth Michalski of FL and Shelly Thornton of FL; sister-in-law and friend, Patricia Barnello of Bridgeport; friend of 45 years, Gary Douglas and several nieces, nephews and many close friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 9:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd., (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
