Geraldine M. (Salvatore) Vasta's Obituary
Geraldine M. (Salvatore) Vasta, 89 of Dewitt, passed away on March 24, 2026, after a short illness. She was born to the late Joseph and Theresa (Conti) Salvatore and resided in the Syracuse area for her entire life. Geraldine attended Eastwood High School (EHS) where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Victor Vasta. Her husband passed away in 2022 after 69 years of marriage. At EHS she was very good student and an excellent majorette. She held numerous jobs, among them working as a retail associate for Harry Marley and company; coat check clerk at Three Rivers Inn and a customer service representative at Newchannels for many years. She was a superb communicator and problem solver and enjoyed assisting customers. She was awarded the customer service representative of the year.
At home she was a master in the kitchen, preparing delicious Italian meals and providing fond memories during the holiday season while raising four children.
Geraldine is survived by her son, Victor Jr.; her daughters, Elizabeth (Earl Dumont) and Stephanie Vasta; her grandchildren, Nicholas Sadlocha and Brandon Strouse; her brother, Joseph (Linda Dennison) Salvatore Jr.; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Geraldine was predeceased by her sister, Mary (Salvatore) and brother-in-law David King; along with daughter Cynthia (Stephen Sadlocha) Vasta.
Private services will be held later this spring.
