Gerardo (Gerald) "Jerry" A. Pisanti's Obituary
Gerardo (Gerald) “Jerry” A. Pisanti, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at James Square in Syracuse, NY. Jerry was born in the Bronx on October 30, 1927, to the late Josephine Riccardi and Joseph Pisanti. During World War II, he served in the Air Force and was stationed in the Pacific. Jerry lived in Syracuse almost all his life, and owned and operated a large apartment complex near Le Moyne College for over 30 years. An avid reader, he had a never-ending thirst for historical knowledge and also kept current with the politics and news of the day. Although never married, Jerry enjoyed his extended family and spending time with his longtime companion, Nora Bedient who passed away in 2007.
He was also predeceased by his sister, Clementine (Floyd) Barbano, and his brother, Fred (Susan) Pisanti.
Jerry is survived by his nieces, Catherine (Tovar) Cerulli of Marshfield, VT, and Susan (Carl) Scott of Liverpool, NY; his nephews, David (Phyllis) Barbano of Dryden, NY, and John (Gail) Barbano of Cranbury, NJ, and many grand-nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at noon in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
