Gertrude A. (Hone) Robinson's Obituary
Gertrude A. (Hone) Robinson, 95, longtime resident of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Perth Ontario, Canada and grew up in Eastwood and attended Eastwood High School graduating at the age of 16. She later raised her family in Mattydale before moving to Camillus. Gertie loved playing cards, watching sports, and enjoyed traveling and camping throughout NY State. She loved cooking for family and friends, and especially looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Eva Jane (York) Hone, and her husband, Robert C. Robinson in 2004, and her sister, Doris Herbst.
Gertie is survived by her children, Kathie (Mary Kathleen) Anderson, Barbara Pogo Pritchard (Peter), and Michelle (Stephen) Parker; 10 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Gertrude’s life at 10:00 am in St. Margaret’s Church, Mattydale. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt. Family and friends may call from Noon – 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
