Giannina DeFuria's Obituary
Giannina DeFuria, 79, of Syracuse, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Elderwood at Liverpool Nursing Home. She was born in Syracuse to the late James and Florence (Brotherton) DeFuria and was a life-resident of the Syracuse area. Giannina was a proud graduate of Syracuse University. She worked for over 25 dedicated years with the Syracuse City School District and was instrumental in the development of many students; she truly enjoyed working with her students. Giannina had a great love of animals; over the years she had many pet cats and even a horse that she cared for. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, but above all, loved spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, James III and Jeffrey DeFuria.
Giannina is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In keeping with Giannina’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
