Giorgio DelVecchio's Obituary
Giorgio DelVecchio, 84, of Syracuse, passed away Friday in St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Pignataro Maggiore, Italy and played soccer there. Giorgio was an accountant in Italy before moving to Syracuse in 1960. He was then employed by New Process Gear for 26 years before retiring in 1995.
He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony DelVecchio and his brother-in-law, Nick Francischelli. Giorgio is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Anna DelVecchio; his daughter, Rosemary DelVecchio of Cicero; his son, Giorgio (Holly) DelVecchio, Jr. and 3 grandchildren, Francisco, Therese, and Gabriel DelVecchio, all of Fayetteville; a sister, Carmella Francischelli of CT; sister-in-law, Maddalina DelVecchio of Liverpool; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 8:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Giorgio's life at 9:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
