Giuseppa "Josephine" Gullo's Obituary
Giuseppa "Josephine" (Emmi) Gullo, 87, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Linguaglossa, Italy before moving to the north side of Syracuse in 1967 where she and her late husband, Santo, lived. Josephine was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei Church. She was an avid knitter and gardener who enjoyed cooking and feeding her family and friends. Josephine also loved watching and reading the news and spending time with her granddaughters. She was predeceased by her husband, Santo Gullo in 2007, three brothers and three sisters, all of Italy. Josephine is survived by her son, Rosario (Heather) Gullo of Liverpool; four granddaughters, Katherine, Anne, Sophia and Tessa Gullo and her sister, Egida Emmi of Linguaglossa, Italy. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Josephine's family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the nurses and caregivers from Hospice and St. Joseph's Dialysis Center at the Seneca Campus for their care and guidance.
