Giuseppina "Josephine" Anticoli's Obituary
Giuseppina "Josephine" Anticoli, 91, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at Iroquois Nursing Home. She was a seamstress with Learbury's for many years and a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union. Josephine was a strong spirited, hard working woman, loving mother and grandmother. She believed heavily in her faith and the Catholic Church. She was exceptionally charitable in donating to churches in Syracuse and Italy as well as to her local community; she gave generously to anyone in need. She was a devout Catholic and communicant of Holy Trinity Church. In her spare time, Josephine enjoyed crocheting, baking and cooking for her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Innocencio Anticoli in 2005 and her daughter, Anna Desiderio in 2013. Josephine is survived by her loving daughter, Maria R. Campanella (Jack Munday) of Cicero; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass in celebration of Josephine's life will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
