Giuseppina (DiGiorgio) Piccitto's Obituary
Giuseppina (DiGiorgio) Piccitto, 87, passed away peacefully Thursday in Jupiter, FL. She was born in Sicily, the daughter of Bartolo and Angela (Mazza) DiGiorgio. She and her husband Angelo moved to Syracuse in 1954. Giuseppina was a cook at Caroma's Restaurant, a seamstress at Learbury's Clothing and co-owned and operated Queens Plate Trattoria in Baldwinsville with her husband. Shortly after her husband passed in 1987 she moved to Jupiter, FL where she resided. She loved knitting, cooking and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Giuseppina was predeceased by her husband, Angelo, her sisters Bartola DiGiorgio and Sebastiana DiStefano, her brother Bartolo DiGiorgio and her grandson Nicholas Piccitto.
Giuseppina is survived by her children, Carmela (Ciro) Carroccio of North Syracuse, Emanuele (Diana) Piccitto of South Carolina, Bartolo Piccitto of North Carolina, John (Susan) Piccitto of Rochester, and Maria Copeland of Jupiter, FL; 11 Grandchildren, Josie Piccitto, Vince (Kelly) Carroccio, Angelo (Sarah) Piccitto, Angelo Christopher Piccitto, Maria (John) Vigliotti, Angelo (Nicole) Carroccio, Jenelle (James) Morse, Renee Piccitto, Lisa (Will) Nagel, Marisa (Jason) Monachino,and Ross Copeland, many great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson to make 5 generations.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 9:00 am in THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery and Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd. ) North Syracuse on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
