Gloria C. (Gladle) Bassi's Obituary
Gloria C. (Gladle) Bassi, 89, of Liverpool, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Auburn Senior Services in Auburn, NY. She was born in Gouverneur, NY, daughter of the late Frederick and Mamie (Young) Gladle. Gloria was a supervisor for General Electric and subsequently was employed as a bus driver by the Liverpool School District for over 20 years. Gloria cherished her children and family and loved spending time with them. Her legacy was the hundreds of beautiful blankets she made for her family and loved ones to surround them in warmth and care.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Benjamin Peter Bassi, Sr. in 2003; her son, Daniel Francis Bassi in 1978, and siblings, Virginia Tiernan, Winifred LaCombe and Rosanna Wright.
Gloria is survived by her children, Deborah E. (Larry) Long of NJ, Benjamin P. (Rebecca Coburn) Bassi, Jr. of NH, Barbara (Bernard ) Smith of Mayfield, NY, Robert O. (Kim Heitz) Bassi of Camillus; eleven grandchildren; her brother, Frederick Gladle of Homestead, FL; her sister, Alberta Touron of Dexter, NY, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Gloria’s life at 1:00 pm in Christ the King Church, Liverpool. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
