Gloria Saveria (Lombardi) McGarry's Obituary
Gloria Saveria (Lombardi) McGarry, 96, of North Syracuse passed away December 29, 2023. Gloria was a 1949 graduate of Simmons College. After raising her children, Gloria worked at SU’s Byrd Library for over 30 years. She especially enjoyed mentoring students. In her retirement, she joined the North Area YMCA and met wonderful new friends.
Gloria is predeceased by her husband Robert McGarry, her parents Anthony and Anna Lombardi, siblings, Donald (Shirley) and Francis (Pat).
Gloria is survived by her children, Patricia Staub, Daniel McGarry (Nonie), Michael McGarry (Marjorie Price), Anne Roberts (Aaron); grandchildren, Matthew McGarry, Owen McGarry, Marina McGarry (Josh Wilson), Logan Roberts, Lucas Roberts; 4 great-granddaughters; and many nieces, and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 12:00 – 12:45 P.M. immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Gloria’s life at 1:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Assumption Cemetery.
